The Master of Arts in Special Education is designed for practicing educators, advocates and other professionals interested in deepening their knowledge of teaching and advocating for individuals with special learning needs.
This program equips you for the evolving education landscape, preparing you to work in schools, community organizations and vocational and transition programs as creative advocates for students and adults with disabilities. You will develop essential skills for creating instructional strategies tailored to each student's unique needs, in addition to learning to lead teams and collaborate with parents, teachers and administrators to enhance the quality of life for exceptional learners. This program does not lead to teacher certification.

- Mild/Moderate Disabilities: Develop proficiency in teaching students with mild/moderate disabilities and acquire foundational knowledge in preparation for an endorsement in mild/moderate disabilities: cross-categorical (this emphasis offered in person).
- Specialized Approaches for Exceptional Learners: Build expertise in working with, advocating for or instructing students with special learning needs and gain a specialized understanding of specific student populations and instructional approaches (this emphasis offered in person at the St. Louis main campus or through 四虎影视 Online).
