Eighteen more COVID-19 patients died duringng the past 24 hours, taking the number of casualties in J&K to 1042 while Tuesday witnessed 1235 fresh cases, taking the total infection count to 66,261, officials said.
As per the government, the fresh casualties include 11 from Kashmir division and seven from Jammu division.
With the fresh casualties, the death toll due to the novel coronavirus has soared to 1042 in Jammu Kashmir, which include 789 from Kashmir and 253 from Jammu.
So far, Srinagar has reported 272 deaths, Baramulla 118, Budgam 78, Pulwama 63, Kupwara 63, Anantnag 62, Kulgam 43, Bandipora 34, Shopian 30, and Ganderbal 26.
In Jammu division, Jammu district has reported 143 deaths, Rajouri 26, Doda 22, Kathua 15, Samba 12, Udhampur 10, Poonch nine, Ramban six, five each from Kishtwar and Reasi.
On Tuesday, J&K reported 1235 fresh coronavirus cases, which include 736 from Jammu and 499 from Kashmir division, pushing the total infection tally to 66,261.
The government said of the total 14,36,409 test results available, 13,70,148 returned negative and 66,261 positive which include 21,485 active positive cases while 43,734 have recovered and been discharged including 1619 persons discharged during the past 24 hours.
It said, so far, 5,51,008 persons had been put under observation including 28,480 in home quarantine and 21,485 in isolation while 61,953 people are under home surveillance and 4,38,048 persons have completed their surveillance period.
In Kashmir, Srinagar has a total of 13,409 cases, Budgam 4483, Baramulla 3953, Pulwama 3650, Anantnag 3316, Kupwara 3243,
Bandipora 3213, Ganderbal 2637,
Kulgam 2200, and Shopian 1955.
In Jammu division, Jammu district has a total of 10,675 cases, Rajouri 2220, Udhampur 1891, Doda 1843, Kathua 1794, Samba 1500, Poonch 1453, Ramban 1127, Kishtwar 918, and Reasi 781.
Meanwhile, the government has said that the COVID positive patients would be discharged after 10 days without any requirement of a negative report provided they have been asymptomatic for three days.
