Must watch videos: Two GN presentations during Glasgow People’s Summit

Outstanding talks by two Global Network representatives

On November 7 the Global Network Against Weapons & Nuclear Power in Space was part of a COP26 People’s Summit webinar (along with Veterans For Peace and the National Priorities Project) entitled ‘US militarism, space tech and climate crisis’.

The GN was represented by two members who made excellent presentations.

Koohan Paik-Mander: Militarism and Space Tech

GN board member Koohan Paik-Mander (Hawaii) focused on Pentagon plans to expand military operations in the Pacific in order to encircle and dominate China with more military bases. She dramaticly showed how a ‘high-speed kill web’ will reign terror on Earth via space technology. Koohan revealed that US war games in the Pacific region are currently having huge lethal impacts on sea life. This marine holocaust she reports will be called ‘the smart ocean’.  You can watch her important 14-minute talk here:

Massive impacts on sea life: Koohan reports that US military operations in the Pacific are expected to kill more than 100,000 sea mammals per year by 2027. Current and future war games will kill the oceans if allowed to continue. Dead oceans equal a dead planet. The word ‘Pacific’ means peace.

Lisa Savage: Climate and Space Programs

GN member Lisa Savage (leader of the Maine Natural Guard) titled her talk ‘Nothing to See Here: Information Control & Perception Management Around Climate Impact of Space Programs’.  A long-time communications activist, Lisa outlines how the US ‘manages information’ in order to sell the militarization of space. She asks why there is so much silence about the climate impacts of militarized space? Lisa illustrates in detail how the Pentagon is not concerned about its impacts on climate crisis but instead is working to ‘manage the unavoidable’. You can watch her 19-minute video presentation here:

Ozone pollution from space launches, Lisa Savage on Information Control & Perception Management Around Climate Impact of Space Programs

Lisa asks why so few are talking about the growing problem of toxic rocket pollution and ozone depletion from the tens of thousands of rocket launches for 5G (which has military applications for faster surveillance and targeting)?

SUN  November 14 @ 1:30 pm – 3:00 pm Impacts from Privatization of space: Environmental, Conflicts over celestial claims, war

ICSS Marxist Library (San Francisco Bay area) is sponsoring this webinar with Bruce Gagnon from the Global Network as speaker…. This talk will include the plans by the nuclear industry to establish nuclear rockets to Mars and nuclear-powered mining colonies on the planetary bodies. Included will be a review of US attempts to destroy the United Nations Outer Space and Moon Treaties as Obama in 2015 signed a new law giving US corporations the ‘right’ to make land claims for mining the sky in violation of those treaties. This will result in moving the war system into space as other nations will not allow the US to act as the ‘Master of Space’.

Begins at 1:30 pm EST or 10:30 am PST  Link: http://space4peace.org/event/impacts-from-privatization-of-space-environmental-conflicts-over-celestial-claims-war/
